Internal Agreements and Your Money

We all have an internal dialogue on money… and it can be a pretty loud conversation whether you know you’re having it or not.

This dialogue contains internal agreements…

Internal agreements that we tell ourselves about how we’ve decided to handle our money…

These agreements are an internal steering mechanism for your money decisions…

Agreements can look like:

  • I am willing to spend whatever it takes at the grocery so that I can eat healthy foods…

  • I will not buy expensive clothing unless it’s for a specific purpose…

  • I am not spending money right now unless I really need something…

  • I am willing to commit money monthly to charities I want to support…

If you’ve taken care of your money… you have a plan… you know how your accounts are doing, etc… then these agreements work… the conversation is a regular, low-sounding internal dialogue.

It’s a good thing… your money boat is being guided in the direction you choose.

But if your money situation is not clean or clear… and you have no clear agreements with yourself…

You’ll likely have feelings like guilt, shame, and even remorse…

The internal dialogue runs something like this:

  • I don’t want to deal with it…

  • My debt is mounting. I’ll just ignore it. It’s too big, it’ll never go away; Why bother. I can’t look. It’s too scary…

  • My accounts? I’ll not look, hoping the bank won’t call…

  • I have enough, but I’m afraid of money, so whatever… I spend whatever I want…

  • I can’t do this money thing..

  • I can’t manage money, so I will just ignore it… putting my head in the sand…

If your money isn’t cleaned up…you know it.

The internal dialogue is more like a battle, a struggle, a very loud argument. It feels bad when you think about money…

When these “bad” money dialogues are running…

It is like an undercurrent of uncertainty running, all the time in your head…

Because money supports our very existence,

this uncertainty can be incredibly scary!

It’s also taking precious emotional energy away from your life…

You have no steering to navigate the financial ship that supports your existence… You are out of agreement with your highest, healthy self …

And that never feels good.

How do we change that?

We look at our internal agreements we have with ourselves around our money… we reassess… and look at what is and isn’t working…

We decide to take the time to clean up our self-sabotaging behaviors and internal agreements around our money habits…

We decide on new, healthy habits and agreements that serve us…

Once we have new agreements, we set them in motion…

One easy step at a time…

Our internal dialogue begins to quiet…

Our internal energy is no longer depleted…

Bringing in a new happiness and freedom into our lives…

So we can devote our time to things that bring us joy!

Money can be such a tricky topic…

It can certainly be a trigger for fear, greed, low self-esteem, worry, and guilt.

Overcoming the struggle with it can also be a source of…

Empowerment and some amazing personal growth!

Internal money agreements are a great way to understand and navigate how you are operating internally with money.

Whether you’re clean with your money or struggle with it,

Getting clarity on what your internal dialogue is telling you…

Speaks clearly on what you need to do next…
